American-Swedish apparel company Gant, abbreviated as GANT, has its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden. Bernard Gantmacher established the business, which had its initial headquarters in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1949.
The top Gant kidswear items, which operate in 70 markets, are readily available in our online store for convenience. GANT, GANT Rugger and GANT Diamond G are the three collections that make up “House of Gant.”
The fact that Gant has introduced a brand-new line just for children and teenagers is fantastic because it allows the teens who’ve traditionally purchased the smallest sizes from the women’s and men’s lines to choose designer clothes for teenagers that are ideal for their sizes.
Newborn to teen sizes are now available in the children’s clothing lines, which provide a wide selection of items, including chinos, shirts, polo shirts, sports jerseys, accessories and outerwear like parkas for an active lifestyle.
The collection is ideal for occasions when youngsters wish to appear a little more sophisticated while remaining casual, cosy and relaxed. The clothing pieces have a subtle, understated Gant logo that gives them a wonderfully sophisticated, elegant appeal.
There are preppy, more upscale, dressier teenage clothes UK and casual and comfy kids’ clothing, all in highly classic and timeless styles. Numerous items include embroidered and distinctive Gant boys emblems.
All products display GANT’s enduring flair and exceptional craftsmanship. Gant kids provide investment products that can last your adolescent many years since they produce high-quality, well-made goods.
Jewish immigrant Bernard Gantmacher arrived in New York City in 1907, originally from Myropil, Ukraine. Gantmacher worked at a textile factory producing shirt collars when he met Rebecca Rose, a button and buttonhole specialist who worked for the same company.
After Gantmacher’s discharge from service in World War I, the couple wed and, along with business partner Morris Shapiro, founded the Par-Ex Shirt Company. The company made clothing for retailers like Brooks Brothers, J. Press and Manhattan.
The business moved to New Haven, Connecticut, in 1927 and launched the Gant label in 1949. When Bernard’s father passed away in 1955, his sons ran the business. The prominent features of GANT dress shirts were the box pleat, locker loop, and rear collar buttons.
Gant specially produced the Yale co-op shirt for the shop on the Yale University campus in the 1960s. The Gant brothers sold the business to Consolidated Foods in 1968 while continuing to work there.
The business debuted its first sportswear line in 1971, and the Rugger brand followed in 1974. Gant stopped operating in New Haven in 1979 and became a division of the garment company The Palm Beach Company.
When Pyramid Sportswear of Sweden was granted permission to create and sell Gant outside the US in the early 1980s, Gant made its worldwide debut. The oldest Gant store in the world as of this writing opened on February 25th, 1995.
